A Hunter's Green homeowner replaced original 1998 carpet with 1,800 sq ft of wide-plank waterproof LVP throughout the ground floor and master bedroom.
The Challenge
The 1998 Hunter's Green home had original carpet that had survived three families and two dogs. The owners were preparing for resale and knew buyers would expect hard surface flooring in a home at this price point.
Our Solution
We removed all carpet and tack strips, checked the subfloor, reinforced two squeaky areas, and installed a 6-mil vapor barrier before setting the 7" wide-plank click LVP with staggered joints throughout. The continuous run from the entry through the living and dining areas into the master suite required careful planning of the expansion gaps at walls and transitions.
The Result
The ground floor looks dramatically different. The LVP selected was a warm tan oak look that complemented the existing kitchen cabinets. The home sold in 14 days after listing.
