A large Westchase closet was converted to a proper laundry room — shelving, LVP flooring, utility sink and a fold-down ironing board built in.
The Challenge
The Westchase home had an oversized walk-in closet adjacent to the laundry machines that had been used for storage. The homeowners wanted a proper laundry room with a utility sink, shelving for detergent and supplies, and a fold-down ironing board — all in the existing footprint.
Our Solution
We installed a floor-mounted utility sink with existing plumbing access from the adjacent laundry, built floor-to-ceiling shelving on one wall, installed a fold-down ironing board flush with the wall, and finished the floor with LVP. Painted the walls a cheerful light yellow.
The Result
The laundry room is now functional, organized and pleasant to use. The fold-down ironing board is the feature the homeowners use most — they no longer haul an ironing board from storage.
Work Completed
- Floor-mounted utility sink — connect to existing stub-outs
- Floor-to-ceiling shelving on back wall — 4 adjustable shelves
- Fold-down ironing board flush-mounted in wall
- LVP flooring — waterproof, easy to clean
- Fresh paint — Sherwin-Williams Jonquil yellow
Questions About This Project
How do you add a utility sink in an existing space without new plumbing?
If there are existing supply stub-outs and a nearby drain, we can connect without running new lines. We assess the plumbing access at the estimate — it's the key factor in determining cost.
