A Westchase homeowner converted two bedrooms and the hallway from carpet to LVP — a continuous run that required careful planning at doorways and the HVAC vent covers.
The Challenge
The Westchase homeowner wanted to match the LVP already installed in their living areas — installed by another contractor 2 years earlier. They needed to match the plank color, width and direction in the adjacent bedrooms for a seamless transition.
Our Solution
We sourced an LVP match to the existing (same manufacturer, same SKU still in stock). Removed carpet and tack strips, prepared the subfloor, and installed with the same joint direction as the living area LVP so the floors flow naturally through the hallway transition.
The Result
The bedrooms look like they were always LVP. The transition from living area is invisible — same plank direction, matching joint lines.
Work Completed
- Remove carpet in 2 bedrooms and hallway
- Source LVP to match existing living area install
- Match joint direction and stagger pattern
- Install with matching vapor barrier spec
- All transitions and reducers at thresholds
- HVAC vent covers re-installed in matching LVP
Questions About This Project
Can you match existing LVP flooring installed by another contractor?
Usually yes — if the product is still in production. We get the brand and SKU from the homeowner or do a sample-match at the flooring supplier. Discontinued products sometimes require a close visual match instead.
