A Tampa Palms master walk-in closet was converted from a single rod to a full built-in organization system — double hanging, shelves and a shoe rack — built on site.
The Challenge
The Tampa Palms home's master walk-in closet had a single center rod and a single shelf — barely more than a large box. The homeowners wanted a full built-in system with double hanging for shorter items, a section for long garments, adjustable shelves and a shoe display rack.
Our Solution
We built the system from painted MDF — floor-to-ceiling uprights anchored to studs, double-rod sections on both side walls, a long-hang center section, 6 adjustable shelves, and a 20-pair angled shoe rack. All painted white with a satin finish to match the closet walls.
The Result
The closet more than doubled its usable storage capacity. The homeowners said it was the single best improvement to their daily routine they had made to the house.

Questions About This Project
Is a custom built-in closet more cost-effective than a kit system?
Often yes, especially for non-standard dimensions. Built-in systems use every inch of the space and are fixed securely to the wall. Kit systems are limited to standard widths and often waste corner and ceiling space.
